Ash is very special to refugee chef Sara Maleki. When her only son Shahriyar had to have surgery when he was two years old, Sara made a promise to God that if he recovered from the procedure, she would distribute food to her neighbours and friends every year to give thanks. Shahriyar recovered, and till today, Sara cooks Ash every year on her son’s birthday.
